July 2022 Featured Graphics: Algorand Event Branding

Algorand hosted a ping pong tournament at Smash ATX to kick off the Consensus conference. They wanted attendees to have the opportunity to compete for special NFTs that were designed specifically for this event. 

The goal of this project was to integrate Algorand’s brand identity seamlessly into the existing venue, as though the design was naturally part of the venue’s architecture.
 
Trott Studio, who planned the event, reached out to us to help make this goal happen. We printed many different cut vinyl pices to be applied to different surfaces including an oversized die cut graphic to apply to the outside of the venue, branding it with Algorand’s name. We also applied green vinyl strips with their name along the edges of the bar, and a large white vinyl logo to be applied over a tile wall in the venue.

Printing & Imaging of America (PIA) hosts annual Graphic Excellence Awards (GraphEx Awards) which recognize our industry’s outstanding technical achievements in innovation and print production. Earlier this month at the regional awards (MidAmerica) we received advanced notice of 10 awards on entries our talented customers allowed us to enter.

At the regional award event in Dallas we were surprised with an additional 3 awards that are listed below. While these pieces won Best of Category in their specific area, the following awards are open to all “best of category” award winners, so the competition for them is much more intense.

Regional Awards
-Division II (companies with 26-75 employees): Silver award for Tetris Austin by Mila Sketch (art reproduction)
-Best of Central Texas: Platinum award for Plank Seafood Provisions (environmental graphics originally submitted for “wide or grand format, special installation”)
-Best of Digital Printing: Bronze award for Sara by Janis Fowler (art reproduction).

The environmental graphics installation at Plank Seafood Provisions in the Domain has been submitted for national judging and we hope that the praise for this creative design and installation will continue! March 2022 Featured Graphics: Levy Dykema

Levy Dykema is one of our many growing clients in Austin and is one of our model customers – they utilize every type of product or service Miller offers.
 
Recently we were able to rush print some traffic-stopping designs to strategically place in their new Congress Avenue windows as SXSW’ers were traveling by on foot. The designs had the desired effect, drawing festival goers’ attention and creating awareness for Levy Dykema and their new Austin location, inside the historic Sampson Building on the corner of Congress and 7th. Many photo ops were taking place outside their windows. How fun for Levy Dykema to be pictured in postable photos traveling the globe! Levy Dykema’s design was a printed backdrop on ½” foam board with ½” white foam letters cut out and laid on top. Ryan Begley, Director of Design and Creative Services, did his own design and installation and did a bang-up job!
 
We are blessed to be able to provide Levy Dykema with graphic and reprographic products and services, as well as printers and copiers for the internal document workflow needs.
 
We remember fondly when Stephen Levy came into our store the first time inquiring about services for his new startup architecture firm. He was determined to keep his business small. Thankfully, his plans changed, and under Stephen’s leadership Levy Architects has grown beyond Austin. Most recently, Levy has partnered with Corpus Christi based Dykema Architects. Together, Levy Dykema has over 50 years of award-winning architecture experience and will expand their unique brand of Texas Contemporary design throughout Texas, the U.S. and beyond!

February 2022 Featured Graphics: Alexander Marchant

Our new neighbors on Metric, Alexander Marchant, reached out to our graphics team to help with window signage and vinyl decal lettering. They requested that we print large logos, hours of operation, warehouse hours, list of vendors, and more.

We printed cut vinyl lettering and installed it on their windows and doors. To make sure the decals were visible from the street, we recommended white as the main color, and used an accent color for the list of vendors to help distinguish the different brands. 

Cut vinyl is a great way to add instructional signage, quick information, and branding to your business, both inside and out. Cut vinyl is also very customizable which makes it versatile and a great option for any business.

January 2022 Featured Graphics: Brandon Miller Group Construction Banners

Brandon Miller Group came to us for mesh construction banners for a new development, The Mercer. The Mercer is located in New Braunfels and will feature 42 single-level condos with shared community amenities, including a resort-style pool, entertaining bar & grills, covered lounge, yard games, and a dog park. The sales and marketing efforts are being handled by Brandon Miller Group, who requested 70 mesh banners installed on the fencing to brand the construction site.

Mesh construction banners are perfect for outdoor use because of the airflow able to get through the material. Other banners can whip around in the wind, causing damage, as well obstructing the design printed on the banner. Since the mesh allows air to flow through the banner, rather than fighting against it, it stays in place and stays visible.

October 2021 Featured Graphics: CBI Group

Culture Based Interiors (CBI Group) is a leading commercial office interior provider in South Texas, with clients such as TJH Law, Logicmonitor, Caterpillar and HCA Healthcare.

CBI Group enlisted our services to add wow factor to their Austin showroom space and also add visual safety to their glass walls.

More and more companies are using glass partitions to create separate rooms without blocking light and visibility. This gives the feeling of one communal space, but gives individuals their own space and privacy for meetings, phone calls, etc. 
 
As the use of glass walls has increased, so have the requests for vinyl applications by our team. We want to help with your space if you also have a need for improved visibility of glass walls. Many customers add their logo, mission statement, company motto, or decorative designs to their partitions to add visual interest and to personalize the wall or door.

September 2021 Featured Graphics: Texas Tiny Pools

Texas Tiny Pools hosted their second annual tiny pool tour last weekend. Texas Tiny Pools was founded by our good friend Amy Hageman and her husband Tyler. They recognized the need for a pool in this crazy hot city we live in, and while not everyone needs or has space for a large pool, Amy and Tyler found a way to build a pool in the smallest of yards, so you can still take a dip to cool down.

Amy and Erin Rapp, Tiny Pools’ Chief of Communications + Research, came to us to help print their collateral for the event, and she came with plenty of ideas! Here’s a run through of what we produced:

We printed multi-page brochures with a staple binding that acted as a guide to the event as well as a tour passport. At each location they stamped the brochure, and at the end of the tour, if you went to every pool, you got a prize! The brochure featured details on the pools including building materials, add-on features, and a rough cost of the pool.

We also printed h-stake yard signs to point visitors in the right direction in the neighborhoods, as well as yard signs that detailed the specificities of each pool on-site.

Amy wanted a large frame for a Tiny Pool photo-op, which we printed on coroplast, and cut on our iEcho router. Lastly, we printed design boards on coroplast so that clients choices could be shown together.

The event was a great success and we were glad to be a part of it! We love Amy and her company and their ability to create dream pools in a size anyone can manage!

July 2021 Featured Graphics: Clement’s Paint Window Wraps

Clement’s Paint recently opened their sixth location in Arbor Trails, and we were more than happy to help with their window signage. We’ve been printing and installing Clement’s window clings for about 4 years now and they always come up with great images that capture Austin and show off their great work.

We printed and installed large-scale window adhesives that provide privacy from the outside, while maintaining visibility from the inside. Window wraps are a great way to utilize often unused space for advertising. They are eye-catching, provide privacy, and offer UV protection. If you have windows, you have the opportunity for outdoor advertisement or visual appeal!

 

Clement’s Paint is also a local business, so we love to work with them and support them. They were also a part of our Metric mural process, helping us color match our paints and making sure we knew what we were doing and had the best supplies to get the job done correctly.
