What do you do for Miller?
I am a customer sales and service representative for our graphics department!
Where are you from?
I was born in Denison, Texas and lived in the north Texas area when I was younger. When I was 7, we moved to Buchanan Dam, which is about an hour northwest of Austin, and that’s where I mainly grew up! I went to school in Burnet. Go Bulldogs!
What is your favorite activity around Austin?
Seeing live music!
What is your favorite Austin Original?
It’s hard to pick just one… I do miss Dart Bowl, though.
What is a favorite Austin “thing” you’d recommend doing?
I’ll be honest, I’ve lived here for almost 15 years and haven’t done most of the typical Austin things yet like watching the Congress bridge bats and going to the Cathedral of Junk. But my most favorite Austin things are the local trails, parks, and pools, checking out pop-up markets, and seeing shows at smaller music venues. I think nature, art, and music, are really what fortify the iconic culture of Austin.
What’s your favorite local food joint?
Eldorado Café! Also, shoutout to Vinyl Brews Coffee at The WaterTank on McNeil. All of the drinks I’ve had there are so good, and they have $2 breakfast tacos from 7 – 10 AM every day.
What is on your bucket list for the next 5 years?
I’d like to travel more. My partner and I would like to go to California to visit places like Madonna Inn, Hearst Castle, and the Painted Ladies of San Francisco. We went to Olympic National Park last year, but I’d love to go back to Washington to do more sightseeing in Seattle and do a tour of the Twin Peaks filming locations. I’d also like to go to Niagara Falls soon. I guess I could see the Congress Bridge Bats and the Cathedral of Junk in the next 5 years too, haha!
What do you like most about working for Miller?
I love being a part of a longstanding institution of Austin and all of the clients we get to work with, big and small. I love bopping around town and seeing all the things we’ve produced, whether it’s for local artists, beloved restaurants and music venues, or big event centers.
Who do you most admire?
It sounds silly (and well, I guess it is, because I am silly), but my most positive role model has been Pee-Wee Herman. His work taught me that it’s okay to be different, to have fun, and to question the world around me. Pee‑Wee’s Playhouse was a consciously moral show that taught the ethics of reciprocity, while encouraging creativity, imagination, and playfulness. “The message of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse was that you should embrace your deepest, weirdest, most surreal thoughts while still treating others with respect and kindness.” – Allegra Frank
What is your favorite food?
I enjoy a variety of foods, but I like cookies a lot. Just about any kind. 😋🍪
If you could get tacos from only one place in Austin, where would it be?
I won’t name names, but my favorite place has gotten too expensive, so I’m looking for a new go-to. I do love the potato, egg, and cheese at Juan in a Million for breakfast, and the barbacoa tacos at El Tacorrido.
What are your three favorite movies?
I’m a John Hughes fan. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Uncle Buck, and Pretty in Pink.
