August Artist of the Month: Paloma Efron

Avenue B

Meet Paloma Efron, a Hyde Park resident of over 20 years who has turned her passion for painting into a vibrant celebration of Austin’s iconic landmarks. Known on social media @palomaefronart.

Paloma’s watercolor creations beautifully preserve the spirit of the city, one brushstroke at a time. What began as a fun hobby has blossomed into a heartfelt mission to immortalize Austin’s cherished spaces—some of which may not stand forever. Among her works, the Avenue B painting holds a special place in the hearts of long-time Austinites, evoking nostalgia for the city’s unique charm. Paloma’s connection to her community runs deep, and she’s giving back in a meaningful way by gifting an original watercolor of the Hyde Park firehouse to the local station, a testament to her love for her neighborhood. Paloma’s ties to Austin go beyond her art. In the 1990s, she worked downtown and frequented the 6th Street location of Miller, where her company had signs printed—a nod to the city’s creative and collaborative spirit that continues to inspire her work. Follow @palomaefrondesign to see more of her stunning depictions of Austin’s landmarks and stay tuned as she continues to capture the city’s evolving landscape with her vibrant watercolors.
